SUMMARY:Big Canoe Paddle Trip
DESCRIPTION:Join the James River Association for a guided tour of Richmond’s riverfront in a big canoe! Participants will learn about the natural and historic resources of Richmond’s riverfront and the James River. Each of our big canoes can hold 13 passengers\, and will be launching both canoes at the same time during the below time slots. \nJames A. Buzzard Center\n2825 Dock Street\nRichmond\, VA 23223 \nParticipants must be 10 years of age or older. Participants under the age of 18 must have a guardian register and accept the waiver on their behalf. A guardian must also accompany the minor on the paddle trip and register separately. \nRegistration Required.

These programs help students build skills\, confidence\, and a deeper connection to the James River. \nJames River Expeditions\nA five-day\, four-night paddling and camping experience for students ages 14–18. Participants travel the river by day and camp along its banks by night while learning outdoor skills\, teamwork\, and environmental science.\nApplication deadline: May 10 \nFuture Leaders of Our Waters (FLOW)\nA selective\, year-long leadership program for rising 10th–12th grade students in the Richmond area.
