Clean Water is No Accident

It has taken over four decades to take the river from one of the nation’s most polluted rivers to one of its most improved.

Thanks to those who support James River Association’s work, the river is now home to some of the largest populations of bald eagles, oysters, and Atlantic sturgeon on the East Coast.

As we enter our fifth decade as protector of the James, we find our challenges are different than those we faced in the past. Since we’ve seen improvements in the health of the river, the problems seem less obvious and appear less urgent to address.

But the truth is, our challenges are even greater.

CHANGE THE JAMES AND THE JAMES WILL CHANGE YOU.
