Richmond After-School Education Program

Give your students a meaningful experience on the James

Although this school year looks a little different, The James River Association is still committed to offering our students the best environmental education at this time. Education programs connect youth with river-based learning experiences that inspire confidence, ecological understanding, nature appreciation, and conservation action.

We are now offering outdoor educational activities at Richmond’s Robious Landing on Wednesdays and Thursdays for students in grades 3rd thru 5th from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The daily fee is $35.

Each day will be limited to 20 students per day, broken into smaller groups for activities.  Masks are not required while outside, or when students are on the water, but are required to be worn when students are under the pavilion and in the restrooms.

After-School Activities include:

  • Fishing
  • Paddle Boarding
  • Watershed Lessons
  • Canoeing
  • Water Quality testing
  • Nature hikes examining native & nonnative plants
  • Art Projects
  • Outdoor games and activities – Scavenger hunts, Jump Rope, etc.
