A list of environmental volunteer opportunities to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. (January 17th)

JRA recognizes the importance of volunteer work and what it can do for the community and the environment. And so, we have created a list of different environmental volunteer opportunities across Virginia in honor and remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. This year, MLK Day falls on January 17th. This national holiday honors the life and works of Martin Luther King Jr. One of the main ways people honor his memory is through volunteer work to improve local communities. This exemplifies what Martin Luther King Jr. stood for: a community coming together to make radical change. 

Below is our list of environmental volunteer opportunities to encourage people to get out there and support their communities. These events range from cleaning up rivers, to dealing with invasive species. Please look through our list to see which events are in your area.
