March is River Hero Home Month!
Homeowners living in the James River basin are invited to join us in celebrating River Hero Home month this March. Throughout the month, we will bring awareness to stormwater runoff and promote ways to stop pollution in your own backyard to improve water quality in the James River.
We will be hosting a series of workshops, events and rain barrel sales to inspire and empower others to take action toward the shared the goal of a healthy river.
- March 4, 11 am-Noon
- Come by Windy Hill Sports Complex at 16500 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA to purchase a 55 gallon rain barrel for only $25. Quantity is limited so come early!
- March 11, 10 am-Noon
- If you are a resident of James City County or Williamsburg, you are invited to a free Tree Workshop at Freedom Park. Participants will also receive a free 15 gallon native tree for their yard. More information can be found at https://thejamesriver.org/

- Join other native plant enthusiasts for a free tour of the Quarry Garden in Schuyhler, Virginia that is set to open in April 2017. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Register here.

- Come by the Harding Street Urban Agriculture Center at 453 Harding St, Petersburg, VA to pick up a free rain barrel and downspout connector. Quantity is limited, so come early! There is also the opportunity to tour the Urban Agriculture Center and learn how to setup and use your rain barrel.
