Since 1976, JRA has helped the James River make a remarkable comeback—from a river so polluted it was closed to fishing to one that communities rely on and enjoy every day. The next 50 years will bring new challenges, and your support ensures we can meet them head on.

Over the last 50 years, we have witnessed a remarkable comeback, from one of the most polluted rivers in the nation to one of the most improved. But we can’t lose sight of the fact that the story is not yet over; we must keep the comeback coming. We’ve taken the river from a D- to a B grade, but we need your help to reach our goal of a fully healthy, Grade-A river.
