Below the Surface: Invasive Catfish in the James River

February 25 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Invasive species threaten the James River from every angle, but some of the most significant impacts are hidden underwater. Join the James River Association and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources for an insightful conversation on the rise of blue and flathead catfish. We’ll explore how these species have thrived in our watershed and what their rapid expansion means for the health of our native fish and the future of the river ecosystem.

Held in coordination with Richmond Invasive Species Awareness Week (RISAW), this program offers two ways to join:

  • In-Person: Join us at the James A. Buzzard River Education Center in Richmond.

  • Virtually: Participate from home via Zoom.

Registration is required. Please complete the form below to secure your spot and receive the meeting link if attending virtually.
