A crowd gathered at Richmond’s Diversity Park to watch short films at Films on the Floodwall the evening of Wednesday, September 13. Films on the Floodwall is a free community film screening held annually at Diversity Park in the James River Park System during James River Week. Films about conservation, outdoor recreation, parks and public spaces, wildlife and ecosystems, and aesthetics are typically screened at the event. A dozen short films created by filmmakers including Melissa Lesh of Emerging Earth Films, Hunter Davis of Home on the James, Elli Morris of Elli Morris Stills & Motion, and Brandon Montijo of Tijo Media were screened at this year’s event.

Films on the Floodwall is presented by the James River Association, James River Advisory Council, and James River Outdoor Coalition. Generous support for this year’s event was provided by Aviva Rental Systems, Kinker Press, Inc., Riverside Outfitters, Passages Adventure Camp, RVA Paddlesports, Art Works, and the James River Park System. Visit filmsonthefloodwall.org for more information about the event.
