James A. Buzzard River Education Center

Parking and shuttle service is available at Stone Brewing Taproom, 3401 Williamsburg Ave, Richmond, VA 23231 (Directions)

Welcome to the second annual James River Association’s EcoFest! Dive into a day dedicated to celebrating and preserving our vibrant local environment. This energy-packed event will be held at our very own James A. Buzzard Education Center on the bank of the Great Shiplock Park in Richmond, VA!

Paddle with the James

Join us for a free guided paddle trip with a JRA educator! Participants must be at least 16 years old, and participate with a guardian. We are hosting four paddle trips, but each has very limited spots, so register now to save your space!

Try a SUP, Kayak, or Raft!

RVA Paddlesports is offering a variety of free paddling experiences appropriate for all ages and skill levels. Paddling equipment and safety gear will be provided for families and individuals to take out on the water and enjoy nature.

Volunteer for a few hours!

In order to pull of this event, we need volunteers like you! Register to help set up prior to the event, assist in cleaning up after the event, or even just spend a couple of hours at our booths sharing your knowledge!

Get ready to dive in!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or curious to try something new, experience the benefits of sauna and cold water therapy with Sauna Plunge VA. All equipment and guidance are provided, so just bring yourself and an open mind.

Parking

Stone Brewing Richmond have graciously offered their parking lot (off Williamsburg Avenue) for free parking during EcoFest! We’ll have shuttles running between the lot and the Buzzard Center to get you to the festivities quickly and safely!

Stone has two parking lots — please park in the larger one off Williamsburg Avenue! Avoid the smaller lot on Nicholson Street.

Put this address in your maps to get to the right one:
3401 Williamsburg Ave, Richmond, VA 23231

Help protect clean water! This limited-edition poster will be available for purchase at EcoFest on Sept. 13. All proceeds will support JRA’s work to protect and restore the James River. We will only have 100 copies of this poster available, so visit the JRA table to grab yours before they’re gone!

We are so grateful to the folks at TrailHead Creative for bringing our EcoFest poster vision to life.
