On Saturday, July 15, Richmonders once again took to the James River for the 7th Annual James River Splash & Dash, presented by Swedish Match and sponsored by Riverside Outfitters.
This year 400 participants dashed on a tough, one-of-a-kind 6k trail run or went at a slower pace with the 1 mile walk option on Belle Isle. After completing the trail course, they grabbed an inner tube and floated on the James to the finish line at the American Civil War Museum.
The after party included live music from Downriver and The Hot Seats, beverages from Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, and food from Curbside Creations and Return of the Mac.
We are extremely thankful for our sponsors and their support of this event and the James River: Swedish Match, Riverside Outfitters, Whitten Brothers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Estes Express Lines, Dominion Due Diligence Group, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Smithfield Foods, WCVE, REI, Productive AV, and New Market.
We’d also like to thank the amazing group of 60 volunteers that braved the heat to help put on this event and provide the participants with an awesome experience. We couldn’t put on a great event without your help!
Amy and Marv Sowers once again provided us with some amazing photos. You can view the event photographs on Flickr here (Marv’s Images) and here (Amy’s Images). If you are interested in purchasing prints please contact Amy at pearsaab@yahoo.com.
