Yesterday, the James River Association and Chesapeake Bay Foundation co-hosted a Clean Water Forum with the candidates in the race for Virginia’s next governor. Mr. Ed Gillespie and Lt. Governor Ralph Northam shared their thoughts on issues ranging from the restoration of our waterways and environmental education, to coal ash and river access.

If you were with us yesterday, thank you for attending and showing the candidates the deep and abiding love Virginians have for our waterways. In case you missed it, you can watch a recording of the entire conversation here.

Commitment from Virginia’s next governor will be vital to making a restored James River a reality. With the right policies and continued investment, together we can reduce pollution, restore iconic fisheries, teach our children the value of our waterways and strengthen local communities.

For 40 years, the James River Association has been the leading voice for the James River and has maintained progress during all types of political shifts. Please help us make sure clean water and the James River continue to be a priority for Virginia by making a contribution today.
