I’m probably not the only person who welcomed in 2021 with open arms. 2020 was a bit of a struggle to say the least. Amidst all the bad news there were certainly some shining moments we can all celebrate together. We pulled together some restoration numbers from this past year that we can all be happy about.

In Fall of 2020, 26.91 total acres of new Riparian Buffers were added, which increases our tree total to 8,261 new trees planted in the Middle James River Watershed! This was no small task, and such a huge undertaking can not be done without the volunteers and staff who make it happen. We had 93 volunteers put in 244.5 hours of their time to help the James River Association round out 2020 on a good note.

As we head into 2021 we hope to keep these amazing numbers coming, and work towards a cleaner and healthier watershed. River On!
